Webinar : Ready? Set? Migrate.
Evaluating and Preparing for a Ubercart to Drupal Commerce Migration
Details:
Ubercart has been the go-to solution for commerce on Drupal for several years, but has not been without its limitations. Based on lessons learned from developing and implementing commerce sites on Ubercart, Commerce Guys and Ryan Szrama, the original developer of Ubercart, built the improved solution Drupal Commerce. Drupal Commerce is a highly flexible eCommerce framework, fully integrated with the new features of Drupal 7. It allows developers to implement complex and highly customized eCommerce workflows, while taking advantage of the benefits of Drupal content and community management. Join us for a one-hour webinar to discover the significant differences between the two solutions and how you should approach upgrading your Ubercart website to a Drupal Commerce site. In this webinar we will discuss:
- A review of the history and current state of Drupal Commerce, including an overview of functionalities and challenges ahead.
- The pitfalls of using Ubercart and how Drupal Commerce addresses them.
- How to approach migrating Ubercart to Drupal Commerce.

Recurring products or orders
I have an Ubercart site I would like to migrate to Commerce, but one of the site requirements is to have recurring product orders. I'm using the Recurring module with Ubercart and it fills the basic need. The client would like more functionality, like the ability for the customer to be able to change the order and manage their credit card information. Do you have anything that can help with this requirement?
Commerce Migrate Ubercart Shipping
In the webinar I forgot to mention the brand new module created by David Kitchen for Commerce Migrate Ubercart that helps migrate shipping configurations - you can check it out here : http://drupal.org/project/commerce_migrate_ubercart_shipping
Recurly?
Hi Rocco -
There's some work being done on recurring orders, but our approach is to have it handled by the payment gateway - you can look at http://drupal.org/project/recurly as a great way to get started.

Recurly integration with Drupal / commerce
What does it mean to have it handled by the payment gateway? Would a "recurly module" act like another payment "type"? Or, would the customer be shuttled off to an external website?
