Dahlgren, Most Recently at Magento, Brings over 20 Years of Experience to Commerce Guys

Commerce Guys, creators of Drupal Commerce, the fast-growing open source eCommerce software, announce bringing Scott Dahlgren on board as the company’s new Managing Director, North America. Dahlgren joins Commerce Guys after most recently leading worldwide channel sales for Culver City, CA-based Magento, an open-source eCommerce web application owned by eBay. Dahlgren will be focusing on accelerating the growth of Commerce Guys and the adoption of the company’s eCommerce platform.

“We are thrilled to have Scott join our team and work with us to forward our position as leaders in high-powered, flexible eCommerce technology,” said Mike O’Connor, Commerce Guys co-founder and board member. “As our Drupal Commerce platform and complementary technologies continue to gain traction, Scott’s experience and understanding of the marketplace is a great asset.”

While at Magento, Dahlgren developed and led the Solution Partner channel, targeting system integrators and digital agencies that sell and implement eCommerce solutions for customers, which contributed significantly to Magento’s success. Prior to Magento, he acquired extensive knowledge in developing high-value strategic sales partnerships as an open source channel development consultant and in leadership roles at Zend Technologies, Borland Software, Ness Technologies, and Silicon Graphics.

“I’m excited to join the team at Commerce Guys, as they have quickly become the leading commerce solution for Drupal users or anyone where tight and seamless integration between content, commerce, and community are important." said Dahlgren. “Their focus on a commerce platform optimized for Drupal provides the easiest way to add powerful commerce capabilities to existing content sites. Their implementation, consulting and support services, which enable customer and partner success, is experiencing significant traction in the market,” said Dahlgren.

In March, Commerce Guys announced their Drupal Commerce platform surpassed the 300,000 download mark, with more than 25,000 active eCommerce websites having adopted Drupal Commerce. Retail sites running on Drupal Commerce include fashion-forward Kenzo, part of the LVMH brands, and Dickies’ Street Wear, as well as local restaurant caterers, Fooda, and the United Kingdom’s nearly 500-year-old postal service, Royal Mail, which provides insurance and sport license registration.

eCommerce isn’t just about checking out online anymore. eCommerce sites are going much further: booking restaurants for businesses, registering car insurance at government sites, integrating social media to engage customers with dialogue and more. Commerce Guys’ solutions are built to support the new complexities of modern eCommerce by focusing on content management versus just purchasing.

Featured in Gartner Inc.’s Cool Vendors in E-Commerce 2012 report, Commerce Guys provides support, professional services, training, and cloud solutions for Drupal Commerce with their Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS).
