Commerce Guys, the leading eCommerce specialists working with Drupal, is expanding to the United Kingdom—the world’s second largest eCommerce market—with the opening of a new London office. Located in the innovative East London technology hub, Tech City, the office is expected to make 12 hires within its first year and 40 additional hires in the next two to three years. John Kennedy, regional director for the U.K., will head up Commerce Guys’ operations in the area.

The London office’s early focus will be on specialised training and professional services surrounding Commerce Guys’ flexible open-source eCommerce solutions, as well as raising Drupal awareness in the region.
Drupal is the popular open-source Web infrastructure that powers the Commerce Guys’ solutions Commerce Kickstart 2.0 and Drupal Commerce. The company has plans to sponsor and promote Drupal informational and training events within coming months throughout London.
Commerce Guys will kick off efforts with a strong presence at the eCommerce Expo 2012 in London, taking place at the Olympia Exhibition Centre October 2-3, where Kennedy will be a featured speaker.
The London office will work in close cooperation with local digital agencies and integrators to provide an end-to-end service. Kennedy has an extensive Web background, launching successful eCommerce and payment processing businesses in Australia, as well as managing multi-million pound projects for Pearson Education in London.
