Frédéric Plais, CEO

Frédéric has been working in the IT world, managing teams and launching products for 10 years. Before Commerce Guys, Frédéric was General Manager of af83, an open source company that specialized in social web and digital media that reached 5M$ in sales in less than 3 years. Before af83, Frédéric managed the Music and Games business of SFR (Vodafone Group) and started his career as Product Manager with L'Oréal after his graduation from the Paris Business School of Management (ESCP Europe).

Mike O'Connor, President, North America

Mike has more than 10 years of experience in Internet technologies and eCommerce. He discovered Drupal in 2006, and has been deploying Drupal eCommerce sites since that time. He co-founded Commerce Guys in 2008 with Tim.

Damien Tournoud, CTO

Damien is the technology leader at Commerce Guys. He is one of the top architects and contributors to Drupal 7 and a key architect behind Drupal Commerce. He also leads the Drupal community in France. After graduating with his degree in Engineering from L'Ecole des Mines de Paris, Damien started as an IT strategy consultant in 2003 and joined af83 in 2008.

Nicolas Celier, Committee member


Nicolas is a partner at Alven Capital Partners, the French early stage Venture Capital firm specializing in information technology and Internet ventures. 
He led Alven’s investments in Qosmos, Mobile Tag, MyFab, Splendia, Monshowroom, Smallable, Happy View and Liligo.
Nicolas started his career at Paribas M&A Department in France and in Hong Kong. In 1999, he sailed 14,0000 miles between Hong Kong and Brittany on a 40 ft sailing yacht. 


In 2000, he cofounded the venture capital arm of Crédit Lyonnais (which became Credit Agricole Private Equity Venture Capital).
Nicolas is a graduate from HEC and holds a CEMS master's degree from Luigi Bocconi University in Milan.

Jean-David Chamboredon, Committee member


Jean-David started his career with CapGemini, where he spent 13 years in managing system integration complex projects and launched Cap Gemeni Telemedia Lab in the Silicon Valley in 1997. He joined the Venture Capital industry in 1999, first as CTO of Europatweb, then as a partner with Viventures. For 6 years, he has been the French partner of the Venture/TMT practice at 3i Group plc before co-founding and leading in 2009 ISAI, the French internet entrepreneurs' fund. Stéphane has 12 years of experience in creating and developing innovative businesses. He is a French entrepreneur and an activist in the field of new technology and innovation. The Founder of faberNovel, an innovation agency that specializes in designing new products and services and in conceiving and developing innovative prototypes, he started af83 in 2006. af83 is an Open Source software publisher and service provider, and has developed expertise in building Internet applications and technologies benefiting from leading edge technologies. af83 merged with Commerce Guys in 2010.

Tom Henriksson, Committee member, Partner at Open Ocean Capital


Tom joined Open Ocean Capital from Nokia Corporation, where he spent almost 9 years in various leadership roles developing and investing in new businesses. In his last role as Head of Corporate Business Development, his teams identified and executed multiple new businesses for Nokia. From 2006 – 2009 Tom built Nokia Interactive Advertising as the General Manager to the world leader in premium mobile advertising. Previously, he managed business development and early stage investments for Nokia Ventures Organization.

Prior to Nokia, Tom was Managing Partner of Holtron Ventures, one of the A round investors into MySQL AB, delivering industry leading returns for the fund.
Tom has MBA and BBA degrees from the Helsinki School of Economics, complemented with foreign studies and executive education at the University of Texas at Austin, MIT and University of Chicago.

Justin Zeigler, Committee member


After graduating from l'Ecole de Mines in 1993, Justin launched his career as an independent open-source and web development consultant. In 1995, Justin co-founded GlobeID, the first French secure Internet payment system. Subsequently, he deepened his knowledge of ecommerce as CTO of the start-up Profile4U.com until 2000. In January 2001, Justin co-founded PriceMinister.com, where he is currently the CTO. Much of the open-source technology behind PriceMinister.com takes full advantage of Justin's years in the field.
